Making Iced Tea using the Smart Tea Maker

The standard guidelines are to use 1 teaspoon of tea for every 8 ounces of hot water. However, for iced tea, you may have to increase the amount of tea slightly because of the dilution created by the ice in your glass. For example, if you are making a 16 oz glass of iced tea, we suggest you increase the amount of tea in your Smart Tea Maker to 1 ½ to 2 teaspoons. Pour approximately 10 oz. of hot water into your Smart Tea Maker and brew according to brewing guidelines. Keep a glass filled with ice ready while your tea is brewing. The benefit of doing this is to cool down the glass so that all of your ice does not melt when it comes into contact with the hot tea. Place Smart Tea Maker on top of your iced-filled glass to start the automatic dispensing of liquid. Add more ice if necessary. Keep in mind that even the type of ice you use can have an effect on how much hot water you will need. Over time, you will become more comfortable with the amount of tea, hot water, etc.

Another tip is to use the 2 U-shaped designs on your Smart Tea Maker as measurement guidelines. The smaller design indicates approximately 6 ounces, while the larger one is approximately 12 ounces. By using these patterns, you don’t have to constantly get out a measuring cup every time you want to prepare some tea.

Sugar/Sweetener in your Teajo Iced Tea

Even though Teajo teas are naturally sweet with no added sugar, some of you may still want an extra kick of sweetness. Prior to brewing, place any sugar or sweetener directly in your Smart Tea Maker along with your hot water and your tea leaves. The sugar/sweetener will dissolve while you are brewing your tea, and you will never have to deal with any clumping at the bottom of your refreshing glass of Teajo iced tea again!
